4 members of Gov. Amosun’s cabinet resign
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.
Four members of the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun’s cabinet resigned on Monday to pursue their political ambitions in the 2015 general elections.
The former appointees included two commissioners; Lanre Tejuosho, Youth and Sports, Gbenga Otenuga, Urban and Physical Planning, as well as Shuaib Salisu, Deputy Chief of Staff and Tunde Sanusi, Special Adviser on Environment.
Mr. Amosun, confirming the resignations during the State Executive Council meeting, said the decisions of his former aides were in compliance with the 2010 Electoral Act.
He said other appointees had also resigned to contest the coming polls but only four were full cabinet members.
Mr. Amosun said the beauty of democracy was the opportunity for anybody to offer him or herself up in service to the people.
He wished all his former aides who would be contesting the best of luck.
He also advised them to represent their people well when they eventually won their elections and thanked them for their selfless service to his administration.
