'I Need To Be More Of A Role Model': The singer Chris Brown wants to make some positive changes in his life

Chris Brown has been hitting the headlines for the all the wrong reasons lately, but now the star has had enough of the controversy and drama and just wants to move on with his life.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, the 25-year-old opened up on the incident that lead to his downward spiral, his abusive relationship with Rihanna.

Back in 2009, fans was shocked when it was revealed that Chris had attacked up his then-girlfriend, but the star insists that the pair are still on good terms.

“Me and her are friends,” he revealed. “We have a great understanding, there's no issues. We've been friends for almost 10 years and I don't think that's ever gonna change.”

But it wasn't just Rihanna that felt the wrath of Chris, there was also fellow musician Drake, after the pair were caught up in a massive night club brawl in 2012.
And as the pair have since moved on, Chris credits his music for getting him through the drama. He said, “I think for me it was more of a mature thing. What I portray in my music is all positivity and who I am as an artist is all positivity because in the world there is so much negativity on a day to day basis.”
But it was his recent stint in jail that really ignited a change in the star. After finding himself behind bars as a result of violating his probation, the star was able to sit and re-evaluate some of the bad choices he had made.

“The past year has been God's way of showing me what was necessary,” he said. “You think you're invincible and I needed to look at my life and see it.

“I need to be more of a role model. I wanna be an icon for what I do with my talent. I want to be legendary for what I do with my music not for what happens in my personal life.”
