Okorocha Condemns Charley Boy’s Conduct During Justice Oputa’s Burial

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has condemned the ugly scenario displayed by Charles Oputa also known as Charley Boy at the funeral church service for late Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Oguta in Imo State.

Governor Okorocha described Charley Boy’s conduct as an embarrassment on the entire Imo people and not on the person of the Governor alone.

During the funeral service, the organisers refused to give the governor an opportunity to deliver a farewell message, causing a scene that the governor said was highly condemnable and unacceptable.

The governor condemned the conduct of the organisers of the event at the swearing-in ceremony of three new commissioners and six permanent secretaries in the state held at the Sam Mbakwe executive chambers of the Government House in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The burial of late Justice Chuwkudifu Oputa in Oguta local government area of Imo state over the weekend has generated a lot of controversies following the alleged embarrassment meted on the Imo State Governor Okorocha at the church service.

Governor Okorocha expressed displeasure over the conduct and regrettable display of the late Justice Oputa’s son despite various support given to the family during the burial.

The Governor added that the incident is highly discouraging and should be condemned in its entirety by all Imo people.

While congratulating the new appointees, especially the Commissioners for Agriculture, Commissioner for Tourism and the Commissioner for local Government Affairs, he charged them to remain dedicated to their new positions and do away with any form of vices that will tarnish the image of the administration.

The appointees pledged to work in line with the goals and objectives of the rescue mission agenda of the Okorocha led administration in the interest of Imo people.

Owing to the recent plans by the government to turn Imo into an industrialised state, it is hoped that these new appointments especially that of agriculture and tourism will surely fast track the realisation of the vision.
